Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information wArticles (warticles.com) collects, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. It applies to this website only. If you have questions, email info@warticles.com.
1. Information we collect
When you create an account
- Your first and last name and email address (required).
- Your password. It is stored only in hashed (encrypted, one-way) form; nobody at wArticles can read it.
- A username we create from your name, used in the address of your author page.
When you fill in your author profile (optional)
- Profile photo, author bio, country, and links to your LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube or website.
When you submit articles
- The article text, featured image, category and the dates you submitted and published it.
When you contact us
- Your email address, your message and anything you choose to include in it.
Automatically, when you visit
- Our web server records standard technical logs: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, the page you came from, and the date and time. These are used to run and secure the website.
- Cookies and similar technologies, described in section 5.
2. What is public
Your author page, your articles and the "About the author" box under them show your name, profile photo, bio, country and profile links, so readers know who wrote the article. Published articles are public and can be indexed by search engines. Your email address and password are never shown. Only add profile information you are happy to make public; you can change or remove it at any time on your Edit profile page.
3. How we use your information
- To create and run your account, publish your articles and show your author profile (needed to provide the service you signed up for).
- To send emails about your account, such as email address confirmation and password resets.
- To review submissions, prevent spam, fraud and abuse, and keep the website secure (our legitimate interests).
- To answer your messages and handle complaints, including copyright complaints.
- To understand how the website is used and improve it, using Google Analytics.
- To show advertising, which pays for the website (see section 5).
- To meet legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Who we share information with
- Service providers who help us run the website: our web hosting provider, our email delivery provider, and Google (Analytics and AdSense). They process data on our behalf or under their own privacy policies.
- Rights holders and authorities: if we receive a valid legal complaint about content you submitted, or a lawful request from a court, police or regulator, we may share the information needed to deal with it.
- A new owner if wArticles is sold or transferred, who would have to protect your information in the same way.
5. Cookies, analytics and advertising
Necessary cookies. We use cookies to keep you logged in, to remember your session and to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. The website does not work properly without them.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular. Google Analytics uses cookies and receives your IP address and browser information. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising (Google AdSense).
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this website and/or other websites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info or, in Europe, www.youronlinechoices.eu.
- Learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
- If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before personalised ads cookies are used, and you can change your choice through the consent message.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies will stop logging in from working.
6. How long we keep information
- Account and profile information: for as long as your account exists. Inactive accounts may be removed, as described in our guidelines.
- Published articles: for as long as they are on the website, which may continue after your account is closed unless you ask us to remove them.
- Emails to us and complaint records: as long as needed to deal with them and for legal record keeping.
- Server logs: for a limited period, for security and troubleshooting.
7. Security
We use HTTPS encryption, store passwords only in hashed form, and limit access to personal information. No website is completely secure, so please use a strong password that you do not use anywhere else.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- correct inaccurate information (most of it you can change yourself on your Edit profile page);
- delete your account and personal information;
- object to or restrict certain uses, and withdraw consent you have given;
- receive your information in a portable format;
- opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and of targeted advertising (California and other US states). We do not sell personal information; to opt out of personalised ads, use the Google Ads Settings link above or a browser that sends the Global Privacy Control signal;
- nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to (India);
- complain to your local data protection authority.
To make a request, email info@warticles.com from your account's email address so we can confirm it is you. We do not charge for requests and we reply within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.
9. Children
wArticles is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; if you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
Our hosting and service providers, including Google, may process information in countries other than yours. Where the law requires it, these transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. For significant changes we will show a notice on the website.
